1. Clean the CPU regularly
If you want a durable and long-lasting computer, then you have to be diligent in cleaning it. Cleaning your computer thoroughly on a regular basis is one way you can take care of your computer.
Cleaning the computer is mandatory to clean dust and dirt that usually accumulates after some time, because this dust and dirt can affect the performance of your computer.
The risk if you are lazy to clean your computer is the obstruction of the air circulation space so that it can cause overheating of the computer.
To clean the computer is not careless, of course you can’t wash the computer, right? All you need to do is “sweep” all the dust that has accumulated using a brush, small blower or pipette to blow dust between the CPU components and a soft cloth so as not to “injure” the components inside the CPU.
2. Clean and maintain the monitor
The monitor is an important component in using a computer, because without a monitor you can’t use a computer at all. Therefore, it’s not only the CPU that you have to take care of, you also have to pay attention to the monitor.
There are three types of monitors on the market, which require different treatment, namely; CRT (Cathoed Ray Tube), LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), LED (Light Emitting Diode). Each requires a different way of handling.
You can simply spray the cleaning liquid on the CRT screen and dry it with a soft cloth, but never spray the cleaning liquid on the LCD and LED screens because it can turn yellowish on the screen. Also, do not cover the ventilation holes on the screen so that hot air can circulate properly.
3. Turn off the computer according to the procedure
Never unplug the power cable to turn off the computer or directly press the power button on the CPU. Follow the prescribed procedure to shut down your computer because shutting down your computer in an inappropriate way can make your computer crash faster.
4. Uninstall programs that are rarely or not used
Often we install a program or software on a computer but after a while we rarely use it, don’t use it anymore or worse, completely forget to ever install the program or software.
Because of this, you must “clean” your computer of unused programs or software. This is done so that the hard disk which is the storage center is not too full so that the performance of your computer is maintained because if left unchecked, it is possible that your computer will experience problems such as hangs or even damage.
5. Make sure the electricity is stable
As the name implies, electronic devices rely heavily on electricity to work, such as computers. So that electricity becomes the main “food” for this tool. However, you have to make sure that the electricity that goes into it is a steady flow of electricity.
You can also use an electrical stabilizer so that the electricity flowing into the computer becomes more stable. This is important because if the electricity consumed by the computer is unstable, it can damage the motherboard and power supply of the computer.
